Human Centred Processes '99 Conference

The organisers of HCP'99, the Human Centred Processes Conference, to be held in Brest, France, on September 22 to 24 1999, have announced a second call for papers. The purpose of the conference is to bring together industrialists facing questions related to cognition, researchers and experts in cognitive science, and operational designers interested in the design and application of human centred approaches to complex industrial operations.

HCP'99 will be partly sponsored by the European Commission, and is linked to the European COMAPS Brite-Euram project.

The types of sessions, panel discussions, or papers solicited should focus on cognitive theories and practices from an application perspective or presentations of industrial applications.

Suitable topics will include:

- Man-Machine co-operation;
- intelligent assistance for decision;
- knowledge extraction,
- representation and modelling,
- intelligent management of multimedia documents,
- perception,
- recognition and interpretation.

A selection of papers will be proposed for publication in a special issue of the European Journal of Operational Research (EJOR). Submissions should be made at the latest by the beginning of January 1999.For further information please contact,
