The G8 Global Marketplace for SMEs Pilot will take stock of its achievements at a seminar in Dallas, Texas, on 16 April 1999.

The Pilot is an international collaboration which promotes electronic commerce for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and includes representatives from about 20 countries and of international organisations, such as OECD, ICC and GIIC:

Since 1995, the Pilot has been catalysing policy development and actions on e-commerce, including setting up a network of SME information websites and promoting international e-commerce experiments (testbeds). The pilot phase will officially end in mid-1999.

The Dallas seminar will provide an opportunity for participants to contribute towards defining the future of e-commerce for SMEs.
