First VALUE Relay Centre (VRC) operational launch
The Scottish and Northern English VRC will be one of the first to become operational within the recently established VRC network comprising 29 units throughout the Member States. The VRC Network aims to promote Community research and development programmes and to disseminate and exploit the results arising from Community supported RTD projects
A key objective of the half-day seminar (which starts at 2.00 pm) is to increase understanding of the range of RTD opportunities available via Community programmes, and to give practical advice on how best to seek funding for projects. Presentations will include the experiences of a number of companies successfully involved in projects which receiving Community funding, and guest speakers will highlight the benefits of EEC research and development collaboration. The active participation of the Scottish and Northern English Relay Centre will form an integral part of the event.
The seminar will conclude with an evening reception (6.00-8.00 pm) hosted by the Scottish Office's Industry Department. Here, guests will have the opportunity to meet members of the Relay Centre partnership, the SOID, and representatives from the Commission of the European Communities as well as potential research partners.
