Leipzig VALUE Relay Centre: Press conference

A press conference will be held on 1 March 1993 (14.00) to publicise the opening of the Leipzig VALUE Relay Centre (VCR), one of the network of Relay Centres now coming into operation throughout the Member States. It will be followed on 2-3 March by a SPRINT/VALUE Conference (also announced in RTD-News).
Great interest has already been expressed in the opening of the Leipzig Relay Centre and the associated Conference, with a very positive response coming from SMEs located in the former East German States. In this region the SME sector is in an early stage and the innovation infrastructure (technology transfer and innovation consultancy agencies and intermediaries) has just started to be operational.
The recently established VALUE Relay Centre network, comprising 29 units throughout the Member States, aims to promote Community research and development programmes and to disseminate and exploit the results arising from Community supported RTD projects.
Particularly useful to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), the Relay Centres will help to increase understanding of the range of RTD opportunities available via Community programmes, and give practical advice on how best to seek funding for projects, as well as highlighting the benefits of EEC research and development collaboration.
