BIOART final symposium
The project’s research focus, as well as being a training network for young researchers in the field, has been on improving the ability of artificial and bioartificial kidney devices to remove uremic toxins from blood. To this end, the project has developed two prototypes. A second line of the project’s research has focused on developing prototype bio-reactors ensuring the viability and functionality of liver cells.
The ESAO (European Society for Artificial Organs) annual conference will have the theme of ‘Towards Effective, Seamlessly integrated and Affordable Artificial Organs.’
