International Conference on Fishfriendly Hydropower in Europe and beyond
This is the final event of the FIThydro project, which over the past 4 years has been working to support decisions on the commissioning and operation of hydropower plants using current and innovative technologies. The conference will host presentations of the project’s final research results as well as by external experts on related topics.
Draft topics for the conference cover four areas. The first is related to assessing the response and resilience of fish populations in hydropower-affected rivers, and the second addresses innovative methods, tools and devices for sustainable and fish-friendly hydropower. The third topic has to do with strategies and decision support tools to mitigate hydropower impacts on fish and fisheries using conventional and innovative cost-efficient measures. A last area relates to spin-off collaborations and roadmapping the research agenda for fish-friendly and sustainable hydropower.
