Two workshops designed for potential proposers and participants in the EU's Fifth RTD Framework Programme will be held in the UK during October organised by Singleimage in cooperation with the Innovation Relay Network.
'Successful Proposal Writing' on 5 October will show how to turn a good idea into a winning research proposal. Aimed at those preparing an RTD proposal for submission to the European Commission's IST Programme in October 2000, the workshop will show how to communicate research ideas clearly, address the evaluation criteria, and avoid the common pitfalls.
On 6 October, 'EC Research Projects - the Inside Story' will show those who intend to participate in EC-funded RTD projects, particularly those who intend to be project coordinators, how to manage the project, and how to incorporate good practices to support successful delivery of results. This workshop includes a presentation by Sandy Johnstone, Manager of the European Projects Office of Hewlett-Packard's European laboratory, who will explain how EU research projects are managed in his company.
