A workshop entitled Agro-food technologies: opportunities and barriers to improving health will take place in Munich, Germany, on 9 December.

Organised by the FP6 project LIPGENE, the workshop is aimed at small-to-medium sized enterprises, policy makers, opinion formers and the media.

The event is intended to highlight the potential of existing and new technologies for improving the nutritional composition of animal and plant foods in order to benefit health, particularly in relation to the metabolic syndrome. The workshop will also see discussions on the economic implications of modifying the nutritional composition of these foods, in association with the findings the EU-funded Lipgene project.For further information, please visit:
