An academic course in nuclear safeguards and non-proliferation is scheduled from 30 March to 3 April in Ispra, Italy. The event is organised with the support of the European Safeguards Research and Development Association (ESARDA) and will be hosted by the Nuclear Safeguards Unit of the European Commission's Joint Research Centre (JRC).
Top level teachers from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and national regulatory bodies, European and American research centres and universities and the ESARDA will give an overview of safeguards and non-proliferation matters in Europe and abroad. Scientific, technical, legal and political aspects will be covered. Visits to safeguards laboratories complete the course.
This course is recognised by the European Nuclear Education Network for the Master degree in Nuclear Engineering. The number of participants is limited to 60.For further information, please visit:
