A meeting of the European Platform for Biodiversity Research Strategy (EPBRS) entitled 'World biodiversity and European taxonomy - strategies in taxonomy: research in a changing world' will take place from 19 to 22 May in Pruhonice, Czech Republic.

The meeting is an official event of the Czech Presidency of the Council of the European Union and is organised by the Institute of Botany at the Czech Academy of Sciences and the Czech Ministry of the Environment.

The main objective of the meeting is to identify the key research questions that would allow taxonomy to better address policy needs.

The meeting will also discuss and generate recommendations on how to develop and better coordinate taxonomic research efforts to help European and developing countries to better assess and protect their biodiversity. It should give a clear picture of the present state, and future priorities, in the field of taxonomic research.For further information, please visit:
