Biology is an experimental science that is experiencing an explosion of new data. This means that biologists must often increase the scale and sophistication in the information technology used for their research.
As an area, genomic informatics encompasses the management and the analysis of these data, such as whole genome comparisons within and among species and strains, the analysis of results from high throughput experiments to uncover cellular pathways and molecular interactions, and the design of effective algorithms to identify regulatory sequence motifs.
The workshop scope includes all works that are ultimately devoted to the computational understanding of biological systems on the molecular basis and the aims are to present recent results of both theoretical and practical research, to demonstrate biological systems, and to show new applications and directions of future research.
The Genome Informatics Workshop is held annually in various countries in the Asia-Pacific region. Its purpose is to provide an international forum for scientists, researchers to exchange ideas and approaches.For further information, please visit:
