A conference on 'Informing the knowledge society - feeding SSH research into policy design in Latin America and Europe' will take place in London, UK from 23 to 24 September 2010.

While social science and humanities (SSH) community produces a wealth of evidence-based information, policymakers often underutilise this knowledge. The question why, when, how and which information opinion leaders use in the formulation, design, implementation and monitoring of policies provides the backdrop or the discussions during this workshop.

The primary focus of the event will be on the exploration of the differences between the Latin American and European context as regards the processes behind and conditions for successful SSH research - policy connections.

The target audience of the workshop are SSH research communities, as well as governmental and non-governmental stakeholders interested in the role of the SSH for policy-learning in a European - Latin American perspective.

The 'Connecting research on the knowledge society in the European Union and Latin America' (Eulaks) project is organising its final conference in the form of a policy workshop.For further information, please visit:
