The First Workshop on Ka-Band Earth Observation Radar Mission will take place from 8 to 9 November 2012 in Noordwijk, the Netherlands.

The Ka-band frequency is becoming increasingly attractive for spaceborne remote sensing applications. This band enables the development of compact high resolution interferometric instruments and provides the opportunity of embarking the payload on a single platform.

These developments mean that there are new opportunities in Earth observation for science and civil security applications that exploit the unique characteristics of Ka-band missions. Several missions and instruments are currently under development or close to launch.

The workshop will review the latest in current and future Ka-band mission concepts including applications, science objectives, mission design and instrument technology. For further information, please visit: http://www.congrexprojects.com/12m31/introduction
