An event entitled 'Stem cells forum: working towards clinical applications' will take place on 3 October 2012 in London, UK.

Medical researchers believe that stem cell therapy has the potential to dramatically change the treatment of human disease. Numerous adult stem cell therapies already exist, in particular bone marrow transplants that are used to treat leukaemia. Medical researchers look forward to being able to soon use technologies derived from stem cell research to treat a wide variety of diseases including cancer, Parkinson's disease, spinal cord injuries, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, multiple sclerosis and muscle damage, amongst many other impairments and conditions. However, there are also potential and unanticipated risks. These risks deserve a thorough discussion based on the latest scientific knowledge and experience.

The forum will bring together researchers to exchange views on the latest clinical applications of stem cell therapy. For further information, please visit: http://www.regonline.co.uk/builder/site/default.aspx?EventID=983431
