An Information Day dedicated to the Community's new "Car of the future" task force will be held at the International Automobile Centre in Paris, France, on 9 November 1995. This one-day conference, which will be conducted in French, is being organized by the National Association for Technical Research (ANRT)

The aim of this event is to present the possibilities offered by the European programmes in the many different sectors linked to the development of the car of the future and offer participants an opportunity to exchange ideas and experiences.

The conference will include:

- A general presentation by Alain Pompidou, Member of the European Parliament and president of STOA;
- A presentation of the Community's "Car of the future" task force by Enzio Andreta, Commission official responsible for the task force;
- Presentations of various, on-going cooperation projects in Europe including:
. The intelligent car (EUREKA);
. Integrated captors for airbags (ESPRIT);
. Lightening the load: reinforcement of parts moulded in aluminium (EUREKA);
. The influence of vibrations and acoustics on the behaviour of the driver;
. Recycling special steel sheets (CRAFT);
. Combustible batteries (JOULE);
. Semi-crystals for thermal and tribologic applications (BRITE-EURAM).

In order to promote cooperation, a partner research service and a documentation area will also be available to participants.
