A course on the biosafety aspects of introducing genetically modified organisms into the environment will take place in Wageningen, The Netherlands, from 5 to 12 December 1996. It is organized by the Training Centre of the European Environmental Research Organization, with support from DG XII of the European Commission.

The course, which is taught at graduate level, will concentrate on risk assessment and risk management. It comprises both a theoretical and a practical part, and is aimed at those who work with genetically modified organisms in the environment, have to take decisions about the release of genetically modified organisms into the environment, or those who are exposed to or interested in questions related to the field of risk assessment or management of biosafety.
