The Practical Application Expo'97 will include four separate conferences focusing on the practical application of various information processing technologies. The conferences, which will take place in London, UK, between the 21 and 25 April 1997, are:

- PAP'97 - The fifth international conference and exhibition on "The Practical Application of PROLOG":
The PAP series of conferences is the world's leading showcase for PROLOG applications and systems. Now in its fifth year, the conference continues to grow and demonstrate the benefits of this important technology. PAP'97 will continue throughout the week of 21 - 25 April 1997. Papers are invited for submission before 29 November 1996. Preference will be given to fielded applications or to papers describing techniques which have ready application producing industrial strength code. Papers should also address the question "What were the advantages of using a logic programming technique?";

- PACT'97 - The third international conference on "The Practical Application of Constraint Technology":
The PACT conference and exhibition is the premier forum for constraint applications and systems. Now in its third year, the conference builds on the success of PACT'95 and PACT'96 and clearly demonstrates the benefits of constraints for solving real-world problems. PACT'97 will focus on the growing industrial exploitation of constraint programming and explore future trends for this technology. Interested parties are invited to submit papers or industrial reports describing applications which exploit constraint technology. The conference will take place from 23-25 April 1997. The deadline for the submission of papers is 8 November 1996;

- PAAM'97 - The second international conference and exhibition on "The Practical Application of Intelligent Agents and Multi-Agent Technology:
This second PAAM conference, which will take place from 21 to 23 April 1997, is expected to establish the PAAM series as the international forum for information exchange on practical agents. PAAM'97 will introduce plenary sessions, a multi-track conference, introductory and advanced tutorials, round-table discussions, and a full industrial exhibition. The event will provide insights into leading-edge application, systems, development tools and techniques. Papers are invited for submission before 8 November 1996;

- PADD'97 - The first international conference and exhibition on "The Practical Application of Knowledge Discovery and Data Mining":
Vast amounts of data are being collected by organizations. Knowledge Discovery (KD) and Data Mining (DM) techniques are being used to extract and transform hidden information into valuable knowledge through the discovery of relationships and patterns. This first edition conference (23-25 April 1997) aims to demonstrate the use of this key technology for solving real-world problems in business, industry and commerce. The event is being sponsored by the European Union to showcase powerful industrial and commercial applications of KD and DM-based software. The conference will include presentations from leading international companies that are successfully introducing this innovative technology. Papers are invited for submission before 29 November 1996.

The conferences are being sponsored by Compulog Net, the European Union Network of Excellence in Computational Logic established under the Community's specific RTD programme in the field of information technologies (ESPRIT).
