What research for Europe? - Event postponed

The presentation of the Fifth RTD Framework Programme, "Quelles recherches pour l'Europe", which had been planned for 9 and 10 January 1997 has been postponed until 21-22 April 1997.
The event which is organized by ANRT-Europe, the French National Association for Technical Research, was postponed because the Commission has not yet finalized its proposals for the Fifth Framework Programme. Since the aim of the event, which was to be the first public presentation of the proposed programme in Europe, was solely to provide information on the Fifth Framework Programme, the organizers decided to postpone it until this information became available.
The event is to be addressed by senior officials of the Commission responsible for each research area in the current Framework Programme, with an overview given by Mr. Jorma Routti, Director General of DG XII (science, research and development). ANRT-Europe hopes that Mrs Edith Cresson, Commissioner responsible for research policy will also be able to participate in the event in April.
