HPCN'97, the international conference and exhibition on high performance computing and networking, will take place in Vienna, Austria, from 28 to 30 April 1997.

The focus of the event will be on advanced solutions for industry, research and education, based on work stations, servers, high performance systems and networks. In particular, it aims to show the importance of HPCN technology for industrial end-users.

The exhibition will display the latest technologies in HPCN, with particular emphasis on: system integration; high speed networking; applications and networking; database management; and World Wide Web applications. There will be a Technology Demonstrators Display, allowing real time on-line demonstrations of the latest developments in technology. DG XIII of the European Commission will have a stand at the exhibition, showing recent developments in telecommunications and networks.

The conference will have three themes:

- End-user HPCN applications in:
. Information systems;
. Science and engineering;
- Computational science research;
- Computer science methods for HPCN.

In addition to these sessions, a number of workshops and user tracks will concentrate on specific areas of HPCN and address particular target groups.
