The European Physical Society's 24th conference will be held in Berchtesgaden, Germany, from 9 to 13 June 1997. The theme of the conference, which is sponsored by the European Commission, will be "Controlled fusion and plasma physics".

The conference aims to present new experimental and theoretical information on the following topics:

- Tokamaks;
- Stellarators;
- Alternative magnetic confinement schemes;
- Magnetic confinement theory and modelling;
- Plasma edge physics;
- Plasma heating;
- Current drive and profile control;
- Diagnostics;
- Basic collisionless plasma physics;
- Highly compressed and non-stationary plasmas.
