EVA'97, a conference and summer school on electronic imaging and the visual arts, will be held in London, United Kingdom, from 23 to 28 June 1997. The event is part of a series supported by the European Commission through the ESPRIT programme.

The conference will examine case studies from major cultural initiatives and from British institutional initiatives. Both Internet and World Wide Web practice, and publishing and database management, will be discussed, while presentations will be given on topical issues, including the preparations for the Community's Fifth RTD Framework Programme.

The summer school will have three streams of parallel sessions, addressing technical, non-technical and management issues. Participants will be able to choose individual sessions from any of these streams. In addition to the summer school, three additional workshops will be held, addressing:

- User requirements for innovative systems;
- Finance and culture;
- The Fifth Framework Programme and the role of the cultural sector.
