As part of the EVA series of European events on electronic imaging in the visual arts, a conference and exhibition, EVA'98 Cambridge, will be held in Cambridge, UK, on 23-24 July 1998. This will be followed by five days of summer school sessions from 27 to 31 July 1998.

The conference topics will include:

- Case studies of leading edge applications: galleries, libraries, education, archaeological sites and museums;
- New technologies: visual retrieval, 3D, VR and geographical information systems;
- Socio-economic and socio-technical approaches;
- Millennium projects;
- Cross-border collaborative projects: North-west Europe and Atlantic coast;
- From visual arts to the performing arts.

The summer school will look at new applications and technologies and address a number of management issues. The event will include a workshop on financial investment in culture and technology.

The EVA series of conferences and workshops are supported by the European Commission through the ESPRIT programme.
