An open seminar on "Pan-European Internet Training for Language and Speech Processing" will take place in Rhodes, Greece, on 26 September 1997. The seminar, organized by the INCO-COPERNICUS project "ELSNET goes East" and the ESPRIT European Language and Speech Network (ELSNET), will take place in conjunction with EUROSPEECH'97, the Fifth European Conference on Speech Communication and Technology (22-25 September 1997).
The seminar aims to provide an overview of current initiatives in the area of Internet training for language and speech processing and, more concretely, to formulate proposals for projects that could increase the use and effectiveness of distance learning in language and speech.
