EVA'97 Paris, a one-day conference on electronic imaging and the visual arts, will be held in Paris, France, on 2 September 1997. The event is part of a series of European conferences supported by the European Commission through the ESPRIT programme.

The conference represents a unique opportunity for those interested in the use of new electronic imaging technologies in museums, libraries and the education sector. The main aim of the event is to allow users, suppliers and researchers to meet and exchange experiences, ideas and plans. Participants will be informed of the most recent international developments in the sector and of initiatives in the telecommunications field. They will also be able to participate in the planning of new projects.

The Paris conference has been timed to coincide with the fourth International Conference on Hypermedia and Interactivity in Museums (ICHIM'97), which will take place in the Louvre Museum from 1 to 5 September 1997. There will also be a "Japan-EU Collaboration Workshop on Culture and Technology", to be held on 1 September 1997.
