Euroscience invites public to debate science

The new European association, Euroscience, which includes scientists from the public and private sectors and any European citizen concerned in more than 30 countries and wants to foster a better public understanding of science policy, is organizing a debate in Strasbourg on 15 April 1999 between Members of the European Parliament interested in these subjects and those who have a role to play in European science.
This debate will allow Members of the European Parliament and of its Committee of Research, Technological Development and Energy from different political families to express their views on science and technology. They will discuss preliminary elements of their political programmes on these matters. Among the themes to be addressed during the debate will be:
- An evaluation of current European science policy;
- The future objectives foreseen by the Members of the European Parliament;
- The ethical, environmental and educational aspects associated with them.
