The sixth green chemistry summer school is to take place from 31 August to 6 September in Venice, Italy.

Organised by the Italian interuniversity consortium 'chemistry for the environment' (INCA), the summer school will consist of 12 lecture days focusing on how chemical processes can help reduce pollutant impact on human health and on the environment.

In addition, topics relating to current research in green chemistry will be addressed with the aim of familiarising students with strategies behind the planning and designing of efficient and 'greener' synthetic routes.

It is expected that the event will stimulate discussions and will encourage an exchange of ideas with a view to establishing new scientific collaborations.

A poster session is also planned and all participating students are encouraged to present posters dealing with their research work.

Participation in the summer school will be funded under the 'improving human potential and the socio-economic knowledge base' area of the Fifth Framework Programme (FP5)For further information, please visit:
