The EU-funded INNER ERA-Net is organising a workshop entitled 'IdeasLaboratory: physics and chemistry of surfaces and interfaces for breakthroughs in energy efficiency' to take place from 8 to 12 November in Fréjus, France.

The aim of this workshop is to identify new approaches to future energy research.

Invitations to this event will only be sent to successful applicants who have provided the organisers with extended abstracts on relevant research being carried out by chemists, physicists, biologists, mathematicians and engineers. The abstracts will be evaluated by experts and successful researchers will be invited to attend the 'Ideas Lab', where they will not only present their own research and its relevance to energy but will compete against other ideas. Groups of researchers will then work together on the most innovative and interesting approaches and, in a final round, will once more compete with the other groups to identify the most promising research project.

The contestants compete for the CNRS-ADEME (Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique-Agence de l'Environnement et de la Maîtrise de l'Energie) Prize based on their previous work and the ideas developed through the brain storming taking place during the IdeasLab.For further information, please visit:
