By building on previous and ongoing RRI projects we will develop methodological guidelines for using crowdsourcing as a radical next step towards inclusive open science

Standard operating procedure document (SOP) to engage high school students via the platform (opens in new window)

The concept is adjusted for pupils containing guidelines how to suggest topics, vote on topics and form working groups via the project internet platform taking outputs of WPs3, 4 and 5 into account

Benchmark methodology on implementing RRI and crowdsourcing for ongoing and future projects (opens in new window)

Develop a benchmark methodology on implementing RRI and crowdsourcing for ongoing and future projects in close collaboration with the RRI community and the RRI advisory panel (M30)JOINUS4HEALTH converges RRI and crowdsourcing to foster inclusive innovation in health research, opting for a systemic, institutional approach, combining retrospection (lessons learned) with prospective (co-constructive) approaches. Building on previous and parallel methodological developments and consciously high-lighting the methodological dimension of our activities, we develop and validate a benchmark methodology for integrating RRI and crowdsourcing in inclusive health innovation. Project results will be in line with the rules and regulations to ensure IPR. Communications will be monitored prior to release, and the entire consortium made aware of pending release of results into the public domain.

Evaluation report on implemented institutional changes (opens in new window)

Evaluation Report will include goals, roadmap, practical examples and best practices of implemented Institutional Changes and recommendations for similar projects in the future

Online courses on RRI designed for different target groups, ranging from citizens to researchers (opens in new window)

A core curriculum of courses on epidemiology, data science and statistics that already are available at the epidemiological teaching facility in Rotterdam will be adapted such that these are also accessible for citizens. These will be translated into online format to benefit exchangeability with participating consortium partners. This translation also facilitates RRI sustainability and maintenance of these programs in all participating institutions beyond the duration of this project. Moreover, given long-term impact of the corona pandemic on educational training, this online format can serve as proof-of-principle for other educational institutions to adapt their curricula.

Final M& E Report (opens in new window)

The report summarizes monitoring outcomes throughout the project and results of the three evaluations in M12, 24 and 32. Perspectives of different stakeholder groups are presented collected as part of the evaluations with a special emphasis on sustainability assessment.

The report summarizes the features implemented as part of JOINUS4HEALTH. Indicators of the use of the platform and user feedback are summarized.Strengths and weaknesses are documented along with options for future improvements.

The ME Framework defines key indicators and a Monitoring and Evaluation Matrix for each project objective Different levels of the project are assessed using a variety of data collected using different methods and specific indicators

The report will include challenges and facilitators of the implementation of institutional changes by project partners. It will also consist of a report on reaching milestones assigned to this stage of the project.

Reports on ongoing initiatives that use educational training programs that teach RRI and aim to engage citizens in science (opens in new window)

We will map ongoing initiatives at national EU and international level where educational programs have been used to teach RRI and where these have been used to engage citizens pupils and students in science We will analyse main barriers and facilitators to implement educational programs at an institutional level To carry out these activities we will conduct literature search and consult stakeholders including JOINUS4HEALTH consortium members and relevant stakeholders outside the consortium including NGOs and educational offices

Reports on the engagement of citizens in (online) scientific courses, and contributions of high school and students in scientific research (opens in new window)

A report summarizing the communication activities and dissemination of the results throughout the project. The aim will be to verify the achievement of the assumed indicators.

Reports on educational material to teach RRI across different educational levels (opens in new window)

We will develop a series of online courses and webinars that are specifically dedicated to RRI. These courses are open to involved citizens and researchers, and can also serve as a network hub to bring together researchers and citizens that are interested in science.

Peer-review publication on factors affecting engagement and uptake of RRI in cohort research (opens in new window)

Based on the results and the experiences within the project, and in interaction with evolving RRI discourse, we will contribute to RRI and inclusive open science via peer-reviewed open-access academic publications to provide relevant and validated input for similar and future projects in multiple areas of application.

Published recommendations for policy makers to integrate RRI in educational programs (opens in new window)

We will scrutinize and summarize relevant documents that include theoretical knowledge practical abilities and relational attitudes that can be included in a core curriculum for RRI through a literature search We will subsequently consult stakeholders involving supportive partners in the participating countries and other relevant actors To identify final items to be included in this core curriculum for educational training we will conduct a Delphi survey among the different stakeholders
