Project description
Giving a voice to migrant women
Migration is a global phenomenon affecting nearly every society in one way or another. When the process of migration involves situations of vulnerability, the consequences usually include violence, exploitation, disappearance, and human trafficking. Women are particularly vulnerable, as is the case along the routes from Central America to the US. The EU-funded SIGNAL-LANDSCAPE project will build creative and transnational cartography reflecting these points along the migratory route. It will design methods and tools facilitating the process of life history construction to prevent re-victimisation. The aim is to help migrant women break their silence and produce academic knowledge for policies and social networks. The project will follow the route from Honduras through Mexico-Guatemala to the USA.
