Project description
The factors that influence patient adherence
The World Health Organization estimates that patient adherence to medication averages only 50 %. This can negatively impact patients’ health and quality of life and consequently increases healthcare system costs. The EU-funded BEAMER project aims to collate the factors affecting non-adherence, including behavioural factors, into a computational model which can provide a solid foundation for understanding the problem and improve the effectiveness of future solutions. The aim of the model is to identify the actionable factors driving adherence and enable the segmentation of the population based on support needs. This will provide better targeting of support to the individual patient.
