A collaborative effort will take place to develop a cost-efficient mapping software adapted to the project needs. Outcomes of this collaborative work will be published and shared with the community of software developers.

Once the panel reaches consensus on the criteria, the steering committee drafts and publishes the new levels hierarchy as well as reporting recommendations. The decision concerning the publication of Megamaps will be made by the decision-making bodies of the consortium. Peer reviewed scientific publications will be made accessible via Open access.
