Healthcare Innovation Procurement Network

Periodic Reporting for period 1 - Procure4Health (Healthcare Innovation Procurement Network)

Reporting period: 2022-06-01 to 2023-11-30

The overarching goal of Procure4Health is to set up and run a network of European Health and Social care (H&Sc) procurers who are responsible for deploying H&Sc innovations across the EU and associated countries, in order to define common needs and advance sound innovation procurement strategies - to implement PCP, PPI or Innovation Partnerships based on the results of Europe wide market consultations - which will be translated into concrete action plans for the procurement of both research and development and innovative solutions that ultimately improve the services delivered to their patients and citizens. The idea is to empower all the actors involved in PPI through this network, focusing on the procurers. We need to attract both experienced procurers and not experienced procurers if we want to succeed in this. We will also need to analyse current barriers and needs of procurers, and then create and shared tools to facilitate PPI for all the actors involved.
The Procure4Health (P4H) project has achieved significant outputs in advancing healthcare procurement in Europe. Key results include the establishment of a community platform for healthcare procurers, facilitating knowledge sharing and networking. The project has also successfully implemented twinning programs, both internally and externally, to foster collaboration and exchange best practices. Moreover, P4H has developed an Action Plan targeting healthcare challenge through innovative procurement, contributing to EU growth policy. These achievements reflect P4H's commitment to driving innovation in healthcare procurement, enhancing efficiency, and fostering cross-border cooperation.
