Survey and analysis of Citizens’ expectations and critical attitudes (Lead Arena):Little is known about expectations citizens have in quality journalism and how these expectations translate in critical attitudes as news readers. We ask:T4.1a) what do citizens consider quality journalism in the post-truth era? AndT4.1b) under what conditions is trust in media and demand for quality journalism related to truth orientation, and in which instances do the experience of the ‘post-truth era’ undermine trust? Under what conditions are citizens more likely to believe that truthfulness is a core standard for journalism? These questions will be addressed through a public opinion survey and opinion formation experiments, both to be carried out in two consortium member countries, Norway and Italy.
