Project description
Think again and plan ahead
A consolidated partnership which formed in 2016 designs projects and organises the ERN in Italy’s Emilia-Romagna Region (Bologna, Cesena, Cesenatico, Forlì, Predappio, Ravenna, Rimini and Ferrara). The partnership includes the local branches of the main National Italian Research Institutes, CINECA and the University of Bologna, and two local companies. In the period 2022-2024, the EU-funded SOCIETY riPENSAci edition offers a series of activities and events helping the audience to understand how the collaboration between different disciplines, and different people are fundamental for solving global challenges. The project deals with a variety of topics, such as development and sustainability, environment and people, knowledge and digitalisation, to engage different public groups, with a particular focus on children and youth.
Objective
Think again! Change your perspective and be ready to revisit your knowledge of reality. This is what riPENSAci means, and is our invitation to our fellow citizens. The European Researchers Night is the perfect escape route from customary mental paths and an occasion to explore uncharted thoughts. By spending one night with the researchers, visitors will change the lenses through which they see things and get a glimpse of the multitude of possible points of view. Re-think about what we know from a different perspective is a useful, necessary practice for the inhabitants of a world that is facing epochal changes and threats. RiPENSAci also means think us again, think about our place and actions within our society, our economies, our environment. The European Researchers Nights proposed by the SOCIETY consortium revolve once again around the responsibility of humankind on this complex planet, where everything is so inextricably connected. Research provides excellent tools to decipher these connections and foresee the long term implications of our choices. A deeper understanding of our impact is necessary to disrupt consolidated habits and allow the construction of a new reality. Taking advantage of a wide network of stakeholders, SOCIETY riPENSAci will propose a variety of topics planned to engage different publics, with a particular focus on kids and youngsters. Both editions will be held in Bologna, Cesena, Cesenatico, Forl, Predappio, Ravenna, Rimini and Ferrara. Activities will address the themes of development & sustainability, environment & people, knowledge & digitalisation.
