Project description
Research-training network to study age-related connective tissue disorders
Musculoskeletal, cardiovascular and neurodegenerative failure are common hallmarks of ageing and also common traits at the early onset of some hereditary connective tissue (CT) disorders. Funded by the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions programme, the CHANGE project aims to identify key pathways responsible for age-related decline, studying CT disorders and the interplay of the pathways that lead to common cellular responses. To this end, the project will establish a training network of 12 doctoral candidates that will include 7 academic and 5 industrial partners. Using an interdisciplinary approach, the network will focus on the basic biology of ageing to uncover its multi-systemic signatures and create an integrative map of cellular age-related processes.
