WP1 - WP1 was dedicated to adequate project management of GEOTHERM-FORA project activities and ensure the proper functioning of Geothermal IWG and ETIP-G. The WP also envisaged the financial sustainability of the fora.
WP2 - It offered the Implementation Working group strategic support to build a durable and long-lasting European research and innovation environment for the development of geothermal energy.WP2 was designed to strengthen, monitor and expand the collaboration in the Geothermal IWG.
WP3 - This Work Package led by TNO, supports the work of the ETIP-G with drafting of a Vision, a Strategic Research Agenda and an Implementation roadmap, through the organisation of meetings and assisting the European Commission and Member States in defining the research programmes.
WP4 - The fourth WP (WP4) aimed to answer the challenges set in the EU Climate & Energy Framework 2030, 2040 and 2050 of an exponential growth of renewable, including geothermal, for the next ten years. This WP identifyed the major technological trends in the geothermal sectors, major market trends for projects, assessing the competitiveness of the geothermal industry and promoting the implementation of a European Geothermal Industrial Strategy;
WP5 -This workpackage focused on improving framework conditions for geothermal R&I. This Work Package aimed to: 1) contribute to energy, climate, and research policies influencing RD&I for geothermal by mainly communicating and promoting the messages of the ETIP G strategic documents and the Implementation Plan of the Geothermal IWG to relevant policymakers at both national and EU levels; 2) showcase best practices in regulations; 3) evaluate socio-economic and environmental dimensions.
WP6-In this WP, the main objective was to establish mechanisms and monitor the R&I activities and targets in the Implementation Plan and of the ETIP G. This WP has been influenced by the new EU policies on renewable energy and on industrial policies. The trend is to consider better the criteria of resilience notably though a minimum threshold of made in Europe manufacturing of materials, components and equipment’s.
WP7-WP7 aims to ensure a coherent and efficient dissemination process and appropriate tools are in place to raise awareness about the activities of the Geothermal IWG and ETIP. ETIP-Geothermal has issued a number of newsletters all over project duration. The project partners presented the work and the activities at national, European, and international events.
