MedTrain+: Postdoctoral Career Development and Mobility Fellowships in Medical Device Research Evolving the CÚRAM Industry-Academia Training Initiative

Description du projet

MedTrain+ is an advanced Industry-Academia Training, Career Development, and Mobility Fellowship Programme in Medical Device R&D at CÚRAM. The vision of this MedTrain+ career development programme is to recruit, supervise and train 50 postdoctoral fellows to meet Ireland’s National Research Priority Area, detailing how medical device research is key to the nation's innovative strategy. CÚRAM is the Science Foundation of Ireland (SFI) Research Centre for Medical Devices. Headquartered at the National University of Ireland, Galway (NUIG), CÚRAM is a “distributed” research centre, composed of nine academic partners from across Ireland—NUIG, University College Dublin (UCD), Trinity College Dublin (TCD), Dublin City University (DCU), University of Limerick (UL), University College Cork (UCC), Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI), Technological University of the Shannon (TUS) and the National Institute of Bioprocessing Research and Training (NIBRT)—and 36+ industry partners. Two levels of fellowship will be offered; Level 1 will be open to candidates with less than four years’ experience post PhD (or equivalent), while Level 2 will be open to those with four or more years’ experience post PhD (or equivalent) at the time of the recruitment. Fellowships must comply with the MSCA mobility rule and are open to candidates of any nationality who have not resided or carried out their main work in Ireland for more than 12 months in the three years immediately prior to trecruitment. Fellows have the freedom to choose their research area (provided it falls within CÚRAM's remit), their supervisor and their secondment organisation. Fellows will be hosted in a CÚRAM academic partner organisation and will be seconded to a suitable research performing organisation for up to 12 months in the non-academic sector, located in any country appropriate to meet the needs of the fellows’ research, training and career development needs.
