The ERA Chair, IPMB IAB, IPMB senior researchers, Project Manager and other specialists dedicated at least 40 consultation hours (by month 36), respectively at least 120 consultation hours (by month 60) to preparation of new project proposals, career development and media training.
BC Core Facility (se abrirá en una nueva ventana)BC Growth Facility: All IPMB´s greenhouses, phytotrons and growth chambers are included into BC Growth Facility. This facility is managed by a Growth Facility Specialist and is fully available to all BC researchers. BC Bioimaging Facility: The Laboratory of Microscopy and Histology is transferred into BC Bioimaging Facility. The core facility is equipped with state-of-the-art confocal microscopes and provides sophisticated services with sample preparation, bioimaging, data analysis and data interpretation. BC Outreach Facility: The unique BC mobile laboratory (caravan) and a podcast studio are integrated into BC Outreach Facility that provides services for popularisation of science towards students, schools, teachers, and public.
Best practice onsite consultations (se abrirá en una nueva ventana)The ERA Chair support team and IPMB researchers arranged best practice onsite consultations at top research institutions to improve service, research, mentorship and leadership skills. At least 20 days of international mentoring (by month 36), respectively 40 days of mentoring (by month 60) took place.
Plant Biology Seminars (se abrirá en una nueva ventana)A newly created series of Plant Biology Seminars will increase communication and dissemination of research results within the research community in České Budějovice. At least 120 seminars (24 seminars per year) are organised and at least 40 guests (8 guests per year) visited České Budějovice and had a talk.
Move of the ERA Chair to the host institution (se abrirá en una nueva ventana)One established ERA Chair position at BC appointed by Prof. Jiří Friml from ISTA. Move of the ERA Chair to the host institution on temporary basis via multiple stays. The Agreement will be concluded in accordance with section 1746(2) of Act No. 89/2012 Coll., the Civil Code as amended. The time requirement of the ERA Chair advisory for Biology Centre CAS corresponds to 32 hours per month during the whole period of project implementation (60 months). The ERA Chair is required to spend at least two full days at Biology Centre CAS every month. Biology Centre CAS as the host institution will pay the ERA Chair the amount of EUR 1,400 for each month of advisory function. The total amount for advisory function will be at least EUR 84,000 including taxes. Biology Centre CAS will also provide the ERA Chair with accommodation and arrange his transport to and from the Czech Republic. All expenses regarding accommodation and travel of the ERA Chair will be covered by Biology Centre CAS.
IPMB Lab Service Unit (se abrirá en una nueva ventana)An IPMB Lab Service Unit including media kitchen, autoclaving, washing, etc. is newly established and prepared for use by current and newly coming IPMB researchers. Office and laboratory space for new research groups - 60 m2 of office space with 12 working places and 76 m2 of laboratory space with 12 benches are prepared for newly established research groups in plant molecular biology.

The ERA Chair and other five outstanding researchers (Asaph Aharoni, Bert De Rybel, Xiaoqi Feng, Julia Santiago Cuellar, Miltos Tsiantis) are appointed members of IPMB IAB.
Networking Days (se abrirá en una nueva ventana)Networking Days were organised to initiate and strengthen career exchange between business and academia. First, IPMB researchers visited relevant plant biotech companies in the Czech Republic and around the Europe to start a dialogue with entrepreneurs. Later on, motivated entrepreneurs met IPMB researchers at IPMB to discuss possible joint innovative projects and to conclude long-term cooperation. More application projects with social relevance are implemented at IPMB.
Events for schools & public (se abrirá en una nueva ventana)At least 9 events for students, schools, policy makers, and public (e.g. Fascination of Plants Day, European Researchers´ Night, Doors Open Days, photographic exhibitions, etc.) were organised by month 36, respectively 15 outreach events with long-term overlap were organised for public by month 60. This activity includes also inventing and development of teaching experiments, quizzes, games, models and materials.

Appointment of the leaders of two newly created research groups (se abrirá en una nueva ventana)Promising plant molecular biologists are selected and recommended by the ERA Chair and IPMB IAB (International Recruitment Panel) in an open international recruitment process. The whole recruitment process is managed by the HR Manager – Recruiter. Two candidates recommended by IPMB IAB are appointed group leaders in plant molecular biology at IPMB by IPMB Director. Each newly appointed PI received office (30 m2) and laboratory space (38 m2), a start-up package of 0.5 M EUR for four years (2024-2027), access to all services and IPMB support to recruit their team members. The basic start-up package of each group leader includes 48 person months (PMs) of a PI, 48 PMs of a postdoc and 21 PMs of a PhD candidate. Both PIs have full freedom to establish their teams according to their specific needs and vision. The final composition of each research group will be specified during the project implementation. By the end of the MOLIPEC project, 234 person months of new research groups are expected. All new IPMB employees (researchers, students, technicians, administrators, etc.) will be recruited in the years 2023-2027 according to the newly implemented “IPMB Group Installation Strategy”.
Updated design, structure and content of BC web following updated BC corporate design. An attractive virtual tour of IPMB is created. At least 20 attractive short videos and podcasts about molecular life of plants are recorded and published by month 60. Fascinating stories from molecular life of plants are shared with public via articles in newspapers and magazines (e.g. Vesmír, Živa, 21. století, National Geographic, etc.), via interviews in radio and television (Český rozhlas, Česká televize, etc.), via BC podcast channel. At least 10 stories will be presented by month 36, respectively 20 stories will be available by month 60. The ERA Chair and his team will also present plant science on social media. At least 120 social media posts are published by month 60.
