The TALOS-AI4SSH project has established a Centre on Artificial Intelligence for Humanities and Social Sciences at the University of Crete (Greece), Faculty of Philosophy. The activities of the TALOS Centre are directed by Christophe Roche, currently a Professor Emeritus of Artificial Intelligence in France and ERA Chair Professor at the University of Crete, Department of Philology. This project expands the research and innovation potential of the University of Crete, generates new knowledge and strengthens knowledge transfer. It also builds capacity through training, support SSH-informed AI policymaking, and developing of digital SSH competencies. Currently, the TALOS ILaboratory has been established, comprising members from the three departments of the School of Philosophy at the University of Crete (Philology, History and Archaeology and Philosophy), and already admits students for internships. In addition, a Short-Term Program in Digital Humanities has been created, which accepts undergraduate students from all departments of the University of Crete.
