Livrables

Dissemination, Awareness raising & Communication Plan updated (s’ouvre dans une nouvelle fenêtre)

The deliverable will provide an update of Deliberable 8.1

Exploitation and Bridge-to-Market Plan (s’ouvre dans une nouvelle fenêtre)

The report will provide a first cost-benefit analysis of the possible commercial exploitation of the project achievements. It will have the form of a sustainability and exploitation plan assuring the project prolongation and progression and will include a proposal for a business model. All relevant stakeholders will be accounted for in the analysis. The document will be prepared first at the middle of the project but will be updated until the end.

Framework for safe and sustainable shipping operations (s’ouvre dans une nouvelle fenêtre)

The report will provide a framework that will drive the retrofitting design process to achieve safe and sustainable shipping, matching the lines of POSEIDON principles, ZEWT, MRV policy, and IMO requirements, with a particular focus on the 35% emission reduction in a Life Cycle perspective. The framework will constitute the base of the decision support system of the configurator.

Technical report with drawings (s’ouvre dans une nouvelle fenêtre)

The report will provide the design of standardized solutions of steel reinforcements needed for the installation of rigid sails WASP that can be adapted to different ship types satisfying the different requirements. The design is optimized and validated via FEM tools.

Report on hydrodynamic optimization at realistic operational conditions (s’ouvre dans une nouvelle fenêtre)

The report will present the results of the hydrodynamic optimization process applied to different ship types. Among them, the advantages achievable by modifying the hull and propeller shapes in consequence of the reduction of the nominal ship speed will be discussed.

WASP installation flowchart (s’ouvre dans une nouvelle fenêtre)

The report will describe the procedures for the installation and validation of the WASP systems. The report will exploit the experience of previous installations suggesting the installation sequence, the inherent risks, and the most critical steps. The flowchart will help the shipyard to reduce the time and costs for the installation and the ship owner to maximize the benefits.

Risk assessment of the PALS and mitigation plan to ensure safety at sea leading to AIP (s’ouvre dans une nouvelle fenêtre)

The report will present the process and the results of the risk assessment of the passive air-lubrification system to identify, rank and control hazard and/or failure modes potentially affecting the novel technology. This is the reference methodology on which the Approval in Principle (AIP) is based.

Sea trials protocol for WASP systems (s’ouvre dans une nouvelle fenêtre)

The report will describe the sea trials protocols to be used for testing and validation of the WASP, along with a checklist for safety aspects and the evaluation of the maneuverability properties of the vessel with the WASP system installed. The most significant data to be recorded during sea trials tests will be also presented.

Integration of the ship model in weather routing (s’ouvre dans une nouvelle fenêtre)

The report will describe the way in which the ship model developed in WP1 will be integrated into the weather routing system, thus enabling the preliminary estimate of the fuel consumption for a specific route, still bearing in mind the safety aspects based on the seakeeping and maneuvering criteria.

Risk assessment report (s’ouvre dans une nouvelle fenêtre)

The report will provide a detailed risk assessment of a preliminary design, together with possible mitigation actions. The preliminary design will be used to define a detailed design for the construction of the systems. The reports will also present the hazard identified by either literature review or brainstorming with experts from the classification societies.

Hull and propeller performance monitoring tool (s’ouvre dans une nouvelle fenêtre)

The report will describe a hull and propeller condition monitoring tool that will be exploited for the operational optimization and for the identification of maintenance needs related with (NTUA)of the hull and propeller fouling status. The tool will be based on a combination of physics-based and data-driven models.

Dissemination, Awareness raising & Communication Plan (s’ouvre dans une nouvelle fenêtre)

The report will describe the way in which the Consortium intends to disseminate the project achievements. Whereas some components will be issued only at the beginning of the project, e.g. project logo, and project webpage, the dissemination, and communication plan will be periodically updated adding specific events that will be organized in the second half of the project.

Software application and user documentation for web-based application (s’ouvre dans une nouvelle fenêtre)

The report will describe the web-based tool, its functionality, and configuration and operating instructions for users. Examples will be provided, guiding users through data entry, import, and preparation, the different options and choices for cost-benefit assessment.

Class Approval In Principle (s’ouvre dans une nouvelle fenêtre)

The Report will present the process and the result of the Class Approval in Principle (AIP) of the wind-assisted ship propulsion, based upon the definition, application, and compliance with rules and regulations aimed at verifying that this novel technology is feasible, fit for purpose and safe throughout the ship lifecycle

System design to deliver maximum drag reduction by PALS (s’ouvre dans une nouvelle fenêtre)

The report will provide the design and system layout for the Passive Air Lubrication System that will be conducted via CFD analyses supported by experimental data already available from previous experimental studies at low TRL as well as by experimental investigation conducted within the project. The design will concern primarily the injection conditions and the Venturi pipe.

Characterization of the ship systems and ELA (s’ouvre dans une nouvelle fenêtre)

As a first step of the retrofitting design process, the report will provide a description of the original energy configuration of the ship as well as the specification of the needs for the new destination of use. Among the different aspects, the operational conditions of the power plant will be analyzed to identify possible solutions for their optimization.

Data Management Plan updated (s’ouvre dans une nouvelle fenêtre)

The deliverable will provide an update of the deliverable D9.2.

Data Management Plan (s’ouvre dans une nouvelle fenêtre)

The data management plan, delivered at the beginning of the project in a first release, will present the way in which the Consortium intend to maximize the access and re-use of the project achievements within the FAIR principles. Several level of confidentiality of the data and information will be considered. The DMP will be updated during the project.
