Connect2Scale - Uniting European Investors and Scaleups

Project description

Fostering European start-up growth through collaboration

In today's competitive start-up landscape, access to funding and cross-border investment opportunities is a challenge. In this context, the EU-funded Connect2Scale project aims to address this problem by forging strategic partnerships among key players in the European start-up ecosystem. Bringing together five Business Angel networks from Estonia, Finland, Latvia, Lithuania, and Slovenia, along with the support of the European Business Angel Network and Civitta, this ambitious endeavour seeks to enable the growth of European start-ups through joint efforts. At its core, Connect2Scale focuses on knowledge transfer from venture capital firms to business angels, aiming to bridge the gap between funding cycles and introduce harmonised cross-border investment opportunities within the EU. Overall, the project aims to direct venture capital funding to start-ups in the moderate/modest ecosystem.

Objective

Connect2Scale creates partnerships between five Business Angel networks - Estonia, Finland, Latvia, Lithuania, and Slovenia - and two supporting organizations - European Business Angel Network and Civitta - with the aim of enabling the growth of European start-ups through joint efforts. The project focuses on knowledge transfer from venture capital firms to business angels to close the gap between funding cycles and introduce cross-border investment opportunities in the EU in a harmonized way. Combining unique competences and extensive networks of partners, the consortium aims to direct venture capital funding to start-ups from the moderate/modest ecosystem and to spread the resulting knowledge of the project to a wider circle of investors across the EU.
