Advancing Circular Economy with Bio-Based Solutions for CO2 & Nitrogen Management & Valorisation

Project description

Sustainable business models for bio-based products

Many industries rely on fossil-based products, contributing to pollution and climate change. At the same time, there is growing pressure to find sustainable alternatives. Bio-based products offer a promising solution, but their adoption has been slow due to high costs and lack of suitable business models. Without clear strategies, companies struggle to make the switch to greener options. The EIC-funded ACORN project aims to change this by developing business models that make it easier for industries to adopt bio-based products. Focusing on the Carbon Dioxide and Nitrogen Management and Valorisation Portfolio, ACORN promotes solutions that fit into a circular economy, helping industries reduce their environmental impact while using sustainable resources.

Objective

ACORN researches and develops business models for the commercial and industrial adoption of bio-based products within the Carbon Dioxide and Nitrogen Management and Valorisation Portfolio (CDNMVP) using approaches that are compatible with a circular economy.
