The Enhancement of Software Modules by Reverse Engineering

Objective

Primary objective:

The application and evaluation of a procedure model for the functional enhancement of software modules by reverse engineering. Such model is supposed to be integrated into the software development cycle (SWDC) for its completion. The procedure model is applied and verified by enhancement of our distributed database, through the transaction manager.

Secondary objective:

The improvement of maintenance and optimisation in case of existing software; reverse engineering permits structured charts to be regenerated from existing C code and maintenance and optimisation to be executed efficiently on such an abstracted level. The well-known metrics for structured charts will be used for optimising and measuring the process improvements. The optimisation process will be verified by the model of the distributed database.

Fields of science (EuroSciVoc)

CORDIS classifies projects with EuroSciVoc, a multilingual taxonomy of fields of science, through a semi-automatic process based on NLP techniques. See: The European Science Vocabulary.
