Objective
The objective of ICEP is to develop an integrated and concurrent enterprise planning system for all pre-manufacturing, manufacturing and post-manufacturing value-adding activities in multi-site manufacturing enterprises. It focuses on engineer to order, make to order and assemble to order environments.
The work includes the development of fully engineered, portable and integrable software tools for business planning, master-production planning, scheduling and factory coordination on the one hand, and for design to installation on the other. These tools are based on existing prototypes, developed under ESPRIT project 2338 (IMPACS). The approach allows the inclusion of systems existing on the open market. Investment analysis and throughput tools that complement existing planning and control solutions are also being developed.
Pilot demonstrations and evaluations are foreseen at sites belonging to two industrial users in a make-to-order environment. One is in the telecommunications sector, where the main activity is switching products, the other is in aeronautics, where the product is aircraft engines. Products and services incorporating the results of the project will be marketed by industrial members of the consortium.
