Objective
APPEAR is a pilot communication action likely to boost the public perception of four running Life Science projects chosen by the EC-officials and with the mediation of the APPEAR Project Coordi-nator and its scientific advisors. It is meant to be a pilot action striking new paths in future research communication of the Life Science Programme. Consequently, APPEAR is managed by a pool of communication and consultancies companies specialized in EU RTD affairs. The coordinator brings also scientific expertise thanks to the involvement of experts in several research areas of Life Science. These last will act as "scientific advisors" in order to assure the right scientific content quality control needed. APPEAR invites those 4 chosen projects to cooperate with the APPEAR consortium and to im-prove their abilities of communication with the extra expertise coming to them. By working with these projects, APPEAR is comparable with a reward given to them through man months and communication expertise. It must be, nevertheless, underlined that the 4 beneficiary projects will have a full free internal decision-making-process in working with APPEAR accordingly with their own interests and work-plan, in other terms nothing will be imposed.
