Project description
A versatile additive manufacturing approach to silicone design
France-based company 3Deus Dynamics is pushing the limits of manufacturing by combining the benefits of injection moulding and 3D printing technologies. The company’s dynamic moulding technology is a novel additive manufacturing concept that involves dispensing manufacturing materials in a controlled granular phase. This approach addresses common challenges in 3D printing, such as long production times, restricted design, production waste and material compatibility issues. 3Deus Dynamics has already successfully utilised this technology to produce silicone solutions for the medical industry. The EU-funded Dynamic Molding (DM) project will support the company in finalising silicone development, extending the technology to other materials and accelerating commercial development.
Objective
3D printing technology is marred by various challenges including but not limited to longer production time, restricted design, production wastage and also lack of materials compatible with 3D printing device. 3Deus Dynamics is designed to accelerate innovative technology disrupting the 3D printing process to push the limits of manufacturing by combining the advantages of injection molding and 3D. Our Dynamic Molding technology is a new radical concept of Additive Manufacturing (AM) in which the building environment is composed of a controlled granular phase (powder), behaving like a dynamic molding system in which manufacturing materials (inks) are dispensed. Our technology has successfully produced silicones solutions for medical industry, and personal medical equipment’s. The fund from EIC will be utilized to finalize the development for Silicone, extrapolate to other materials and accelerate the commercial development.
