The increasing drive for digitalisation has sparked a demand for enhanced digital displays that can exhibit dynamic content and be deployed in various locations and vehicles, serving diverse purposes. Unfortunately, most cutting-edge options are restricted to single-colour lighting, offer limited control over LED pixels, or face constraints related to their shape, size, weight and cost, among other factors. The EU-funded LED-foil-display project, led by LightnTec, aims to address this need by developing ultra-thin films that are flat, flexible, scalable in size, suitable for both indoor and outdoor settings, and exceptionally lightweight. The final product will meet these requirements while also delivering efficiency and practicality.
'We have been heavily active in 2 domains: marketing and technology. Marketing to prepare go to market for the new releases planeed in 2024 and technology to realize our goal of providing eco friendly displays easy to use with excellent image quality for different markets.
We could realise and test our beta phase demonstrator of our new high-resolution P5 LED-foil-display. With our P8 product (8 mm pixel pitch), we could already produce and introduce a new and significantly improved version of our product to address DOOH. A first P8 reference project was realised in Düsseldorf, Germany with the largest LED-wall with 70 m².
Now, we are working on finalising our P5 product with 5 mm pixel pitch. In addition, we continuously improve our technology for ease of use, lightweight and further lower the energy consumption.
'With our high contrast and light guarding technology we can create image quality for DOOH displays at almost half power compared to state of the art technology! Hence, with our solution we will be able to provide a unique USP for our customers to save costs, become more sustainable and become much faster and more flexible in creating new DOOH experiences. On the other side we realized a platform to make use of advanced display technologies in other markets like automotive, railways, aviation and marina!
