Project description
Digital rehabilitation services
People with physical and cognitive disabilities require rehabilitation to restore part of the lost function or recover after injury or events such as stroke. However, the lack of rehabilitation professionals and the high cost of such interventions limits their availability, especially in remote areas. Funded by the European Innovation Council, the VR4NEURO project introduces digital rehabilitation services that employ VR technology, artificial intelligence and gamification approaches. With the first product focusing on speech therapy, the idea is to offer remote diagnostics, therapy and evaluation to individuals from the comfort of their homes.
Objective
Peili Vision was founded in 2015 based on a vision to help people rehabilitate after traumatic health events, such as stroke. By combining VR technology, artificial intelligence, gamification and the latest science in neurorehabilitation, our mission is to empower every rehabilitee to train in the most effective way and as frequently as possible from the comfort of their own home.
Our evidence-based novel rehabilitation methods enable feedback and progress tracking remotely. Remote approach addresses the key bottleneck in this field: lack of rehabilitation professionals, which is why currently the cost of rehabilitation services is very high while the availability is very limited, especially in rural and remote areas.
Our first product is designed for speech therapy. In the next phase, with the support of the EIC funding, we will expand our product-service offering to cover the entire patient care path, from remote diagnostics to AI-designed therapy programs and medication evaluation.
