Biosensor Activated Biomanufacturing Scale-up

Objective

Industrial Biotechnology is one of the Key Enabling Technologies (KETs) identified by Europe. Harnessing the power of microbes for biomanufacturing is one of the most promising approaches to providing a sustainable alternative to a fossil fuel- and animal farming-based economy. However, fermentation scale-up remains a massive challenge to the commercialization of bioprocesses, ultimately hindering the sector from reaching its potential. Enduro has developed a game-changing synthetic biology plugin – Enduro Sense – to bridge the scale-up gap and enable cheaper and scalable continuous microbial biomanufacturing. After successful developments, we are ready to perform large scale demonstrations with commercial strains from industrial partners, achieving a key milestone that will unlock further investments to finance the commercial deployment of the technology.
This EIC grant is crucial to position our company in a market that is rapidly evolving.

Fields of science (EuroSciVoc)

CORDIS classifies projects with EuroSciVoc, a multilingual taxonomy of fields of science, through a semi-automatic process based on NLP techniques. See: The European Science Vocabulary.

Keywords

Project’s keywords as indicated by the project coordinator. Not to be confused with the EuroSciVoc taxonomy (Fields of science)

Programme(s)

Multi-annual funding programmes that define the EU’s priorities for research and innovation.

Topic(s)

Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Funding Scheme

Funding scheme (or “Type of Action”) inside a programme with common features. It specifies: the scope of what is funded; the reimbursement rate; specific evaluation criteria to qualify for funding; and the use of simplified forms of costs like lump sums.
