Objective
"This proposal of Intra-European fellowships deals with the joint proposal between Dr H. LAURENT of “Laboratoire de Génie Mécanique et Matériaux” of “Université de Bretagne-Sud” (UBS-LG2M) in France and Professor L.P Menezes of the “Centro de Engenharia Mecanica"" of ""Faculdade de Ciências e tecnologia da Universidade de Coimbrada” (FCTUC-CEMUC) in Portugal. The aim of this project is to reinforce research between our two laboratories in the domain of sheet metal forming and to give opportunities to Dr. H. LAURENT to develop his research training project. The objective is to put in common the potentialities of laboratories in the knowledge of the formability of aluminium alloys at elevated temperatures. The Unit research CEMUC has been part of a Mundial project of “Digital Die Design – 3DS – IMS” and has achieved an European dimension notoriety beside research laboratories and manufacturers. The project of researcher Dr LAURENT, during the years 2008-2009 in the University of Coimbra, is to improve his knowledge in the experimental and numerical studies in metal forming. This advanced training will provide the means to significantly advances in his career and give him the possibility to obtain the title of Professor in France. This collaboration leads to publish common works in several journals and international conferences. The aim of this study is to investigate the springback of aluminium alloy sheet during warm deep-drawing process. We shall compare several phenomenological models of elastoplasticity and model of elasto-visco-hysteresis for the prediction of springback for the deep drawing of aluminium alloy. Experimental springback ring tests (Demeri’s test) will be performed to measure material deformation and displacement during cup forming, ring trimming and springback after ring splitting. Several numerical models with commercial and laboratory codes will be used to show the influence of behavior law in the prediction of springback."
